Max Hoenig is a pianist, keyboardist, composer, and educator with experience in a wide breadth of musical styles, specializing in jazz and soul. Born and raised in Philadelphia, he was surrounded by music from an early age. He had the opportunity to study under artists such as trumpeter Terence Blanchard, bassist Christian McBride and saxophonist Odean Pope as well as the chance to perform at the legendary Academy of Music with Paul Simon.
He has performed with the Force MD's and former lead singers of The Platters, The Drifters and The Temptations. Max has worked with artists ranging from Renée Fleming, Stephanie McKay, and Ed Cherry to Marvin Sapp. Additionally, he has worked with rising artists such as Ivy Sole, Armani White, Orion Sun and Arnetta Johnson. In 2017, Max began touring internationally with the grammy-nominated soul group, The Stylistics. This year marks their 55th anniversary. Max Hoenig currently teaches piano, theory and production to private, motivated students. He has experience teaching at the Gibson School of Music, The School District of Philadelphia, The Clef Club for Jazz and Performing Arts and most recently Beyond the Bars. He has a creative and individualized lesson plan for all of his students. |
